- Will my child be safe?
Safety is our number one priority. All of our Counsellors are trained in First Aid and CPR.

- Does my child have to be athletic to take part?
Absolutely not. Participants with a wide range of physical abilities have successfully taken part in this program.

- What will my child need to bring?
Your child will receive a packing list prior to the program. The list includes items such as a sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, running shoes, sun block, etc. Supplies for the activities will be supplied at the campsite as will all meals, snacks and drinks. Electronics, money and other valuables (iPods, cell phones, etc) should not be brought to the program as staff is not responsible for the loss of these items. Further, they may be confiscated if they interfere with the programming.

- What are the criteria to be eligible for a subsidy?
We look at the family income and the number of dependants in the family. Subsidies are based on a sliding scale, so you may receive a certain percentage of the total amount requested. All subsidy requests are confidential.

- How are applicants selected to participate in the program?
In the interest of allowing the maximum number of children to participate in Mosaic, following the application deadline we first accept all applicants who have NOT attended the program in the past. The remaining applicants are accepted on a first come first serve basis (in the order their applications were received).

- What does the cost of the camp include (i.e. Cost breakdown)?
- Site fees (meals, accommodation, facilities – ground and water sports, trails)
- Program Directors, Assistant Directors and counsellors
- Program supplies
- Guest lecturer costs
- Transportation
- Meals, snacks and drinks

- Are the dormitories co-ed?
No.

- Is it possible to request for special snacks in the case a participant is allergic to various foods?
Yes, we can make provisions for allergies. In the event that your child is accepted into the program, you will need to fill out forms related to allergies which will factor into plans for meals and snacks. An appropriate alternative will always be available for your child if they cannot eat the main meal/snack provided. Further, Mosaic is a nut and sesame free environment.

- Are the counsellors and directors trained?
Our counsellors are skilled, dedicated, and caring individuals. Our staff is formally trained in First Aid and CPR and also has extensive camp experience within and outside our community. They are also trained in the curriculum activities, classroom management and conflict resolution.

- Will there be a nurse and/or doctor on site?
Yes, we will have a staff nurse available 24 hours / day.

- Will there be certified lifeguard on site for swimming activities?
Yes, there will be a certified lifeguard present for all swimming activities.

- Will my child need medical insurance?
Your child is required to have his/her own medical insurance that will cover any medication purchased at the program that may be prescribed by a doctor from the local hospital. Before any prescriptions are purchased for your child, you will be notified of your child’s situation.

- Will there be a way to contact our children while at the camp?
Yes, we will have an onsite phone number that will be shared with you when your child is accepted.

- What methods of payment are accepted?
Cheque, Cash or Money Order. If paying by cheque or money order, please make it payable to your local council.
